In one of their best efforts of the season, the Bulldogs blasted Maysville, 70-26 Tuesday night to earn their fourth league win against two losses. The Wolverines proved to be no match for the Bulldogs’ quickness and ball handling.

After seven lead changes in the opening quarter, the Bulldogs simply ran away from the Wolverines. Gallatin led, 19-14, heading into the second period, stretched that lead to 39-18 at the half, and rolled to a 31-8 finish in the second half with steals, layups and solid rebounding on both ends.

Derrick Lin nailed five treys to pace Gallatin with 20 points. Preston Turley, Wesley Cole and Dexter Daniel each tallied nine for the Bulldogs, who improved to 8-12 overall.

Gallatin’s lone setback of the week came Monday night against a state-ranked Hamilton squad now riding a nine-game winning streak following a mid-December loss to Savannah. The Hornets took a 33-13 lead at the break and cruised to a 67-38 final.

Brandon Hunt led Gallatin with nine points, followed by Derrick Lin with eight and Chris Cameron with seven.

Gallatin rallied with three-pointers last Friday night to defeat King City, 60-48, in GRC action. Lin popped in five treys and finished with 22 points. Logan Henderson added three long bombs and scored 13 points overall. Daniel chipped in 11 for Gallatin.
