Kinsey’s primary responsibility is fourth grade students, but she is also responsible for teaching social studies to students in grades four through six at the new Princeton Elementary building.

Kinsey’s degree is a bachelor of science in elementary education with an emphasis in psychology. During the fall semester, she completed her student teaching experience at both Eugene Field Elementary in Maryville and Minnie Cline Elementary in the Savannah School District.

Coincidentally, Kinsey’s supervising principal in Savannah was Kelly Warren, a Gallatin graduate and former elementary principal in the Gallaltin District. Also, another Daviess County native, Judy M. Iddings Pickering, was Kinsey’s educational advisor at Missouri State. Judy is a graduate of Coffey High School and holds the position of professional education advisor and recruitment coordinator in the College of Education at MSU.

Kinsey is the daughter of Wanda and Jerry Batson who are long-time educators of the Gallaltin District.
