Beginning with an ordinance setting up municipal divisions of associate circuit court and another setting up processes for ordinance enforcement, these ordinances are designed specifically to provide a structure that works for villages and fourth class cities.
Animal control was a chief subject of discussion at this meeting. Ordinance proposals include rabies vaccinations, identification tags, and nuisance management, and possibly a city license for dogs and cats. A leash law for dogs is also under consideration. On the horizon are methods for cleaning up property loaded with debris, junk, inoperable vehicles, and other public nuisances. The group is also looking at a range of issues such as providing trash service, parking issues, and others.
