The January meeting of the Daviess County Genealogical Society (DCGS) will be at 1:30 p.m., this Saturday, Jan 22, weather permitting, at the sheriff’s home of the Squirrel Cage Jail in Gallatin.
The DCGS is devoted in protecting and preserving the family history resources for the entire county. This dedication for the preservation of all family history research ranges from finding and making historical information available not found on the internet for researchers, to helping spearhead with the cleanup and preservation of overgrown cemeteries.
New researchers and members are welcomed anytime, so if you are interested in beginning research, finding out more about your family’s history, or would like someone to research the history for you, contact Lanita Sconce Smith, president, at 660-684-6174 (evenings) or email [email protected].
