Mary Immaculate Church, located on South Main in Gallatin, received a gift of trees from the Cole Osborn family of Bethany on Dec. 27.
There were 38 white pine; 12 clump birch; two flowering crab apple; and three miniature lace leaf maples. Most of the trees were planted in the lot behind the church, a few were planted between the buildings. Ten members of Mary Immaculate helped plant the trees, including Father Bob Rost. Trent Dowell ran the post hole digger/loader and Michael Hiley helped him. Trent said the trees were planted 18 inches deep and 10 feet apart. Terry Jarboe is pictured watering the trees.
