Gallatin varsity wrestlers came home from Friday’s Carrollton Tournament with one individual championship, one second place finish and one major injury.

Peter Steele wrestled to a 4-0 finish on the day and captured the championship in the 145-pound weight class by pinning every opponent he faced. Peter was a second-place finisher in the same tournament a year ago.

Sterling Steele went 4-0 before losing in the 135-pound championship match by a 5-3 decision. He also was second place finisher at Carrollton last season.

Mitchell Lewis went 0-2 and left the tournament with a broken hand that may sideline him for more than six weeks.

Other individuals performances for the Bulldogs were: Blake Cornett 0-3, Anthony Esposito 1-4, Jimmy Dale 1-2 and Myrick McLey 1-2.

The Bulldogs will participate in the Trenton Tournament, which begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
