Pattonsburg R-2 School District recently announced receipt of an $11,884 donation from Premium Standard Farms (PSF). According to district officials, the funds will be used to purchase 10-15 laptop computers that will be available to high school students.
"The donation from PSF gives us a chance to better serve our students by making this technology available to them on a daily basis," said Johnnie Silkett, Superintendent of Pattonsburg R-II School District. "Without the donation, we wouldn’t be able to do this for our students."
According to PSF spokesperson Holly Boxley, the company makes donations in order to help strengthen the communities where PSF does business.
"Education is a key to building strong communities," Boxley said. "We all live, work, and raise our families here in North Missouri. All of us benefit from strong education, which is why we make donations such as this."
