Gallatin Police Chief Mark Richards reports that he was recently notified by the Missouri Department of Public Safety that the police department has been awarded $9,000 from Local Law Enforcement Block Grants (LLEBG) to go towards the purchase of a vehicle for the police department.

LLEBG Program provides funds to units of local government to underwrite projects that reduce crime and improve public safety.
In other business at the meting of the Gallatin Board of Aldermen held Dec. 13, Chief Richards submitted a report on activity from Nov. 22 to Dec. 13 with the following reports taken and tickets given: two debris in roadway; one vehicle lockout; five business alarms; one careless driving; one no lights after dark; one open door; one dog at large; one uninvited solicitor; one child molestation. There are two dogs in the pound.
Chief Richards stated that they have had several positive comments about the Christmas trees around the square.
The 2011 park budget was presented to the board and a complaint about a sewer issue on East James was discussed during public comment.
Bills in the amount of $253,225.97 were approved for payment.
Discussion was held on the ordinance to adjust water and sewer rates, and on the 2011 budget.
The board entered into closed session pursuant to hiring, firing, disciplining or promoting employees.
