Three Gallatin women are starting a new business in town, Urban Charm, and will hold a grand opening on Saturday, Dec. 11. Co-owners of the business are Dorothy Kingsley, Heidi Everett and Michelle Dalton. All three will be working in the store.

"We feel like our store will be a good contribution towards the community," said Heidi. "There aren’t many places for teenagers to shop for cute, trendy clothes in this area."
Urban Charm is not exclusively for teenagers. It caters to everybody. It will feature a fun, eclectic assortment of clothing and other items not easily accessible to local shoppers.
"We want people to have fun; come and have a party with us," said Michelle.
"We are different than anybody else in town," said Dorothy. "We are not trying to compete."
Urban Charm is laid out in a relaxed, boutique style. It will have a baby boutique, some candy, jewelry, accessories, and other fun things. Sizes will range from 0-12 in jeans and extra small to double extra large in shirts and blouses. Store items include DE Rockstar jeans, Downeast Basics, Gold Canyon Candles, Home Decor, SNS Boutique Baby items and Shelf Reliance.
"It will be the place to shop for original gifts," said Heidi. She added that the shop will carry basic merchandise, but other merchandise will renew and change. The ladies welcome ideas from the public regarding things to carry.
The building is located at 202 West Grand. It used to house an auto body shop and has undergone some major renovations in the past couple of weeks as far as style. Dorothy joked that the pink door may shock its former owners.
All three owners of the apparel shop live in town and their children attend Gallatin schools. Heidi is married to Brad. They have four children, Mason, 8, Jalen, 7, Alys, 5, and Emme, 2. Dorothy (Steel-Walker) is married to Dan and has three boys, Weston and John and Michael. Michelle is married to Jason. They have six children, Mckenzie, 14, Cari, 13, Lauren, 11, Burke, 8, Cortney, 6, and Judson, 1.
Urban Charm will be open two weeks before Christmas from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. After the holidays regular hours will be from 10 to 6 Thursday through Saturday.
