The funeral service for Donald Rankin was held Tuesday, Nov. 30, at the First Baptist Church, Gilman City. Burial with military rites was in the Masonic Cemetery, Gilman City. Arrangements were by Roberson Funeral Home, Gilman City. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Advantage of Gallatin, in care of the Roberson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 153, Gilman City, Mo., 64642.
Donald LeRoy Rankin, 83, Gilman City, died Nov. 27, 2010.
LeRoy was born May 28, 1927, in Harrison County, the son of John C. and Nora A. (Elliott) Rankin.
He was a retired truck driver for Churchhill Truck Lines.
He was a member of Teamsters Local #41; First Baptist Church, Gilman City; and the American Legion Post, also of Gilman City.
On Aug. 11, 1947, he married Mareta Marshall. She preceded him in death on July 29, 2010.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Mavis Rankin; and a sister, Mary Ann.
Survivors include one son, Donald K. Rankin, Gilman City; two daughters, Katherine S. Chambers, St. Joseph, and Lisa K. McCreath, Cameron; and three grandchildren.
