County Commission
After a lengthy discussion, the offer from Access II regarding the termination of their lease was rejected. A counter offer was made.
James Lewis, road and bridge supervisor, reported that they will be installing a tube in Marion Township and repairing a drainage problem on Otter Avenue in Liberty Township this week.
Becky Simpson, Extension office, reported that the tentative dates for income tax preparation assistance are Feb. 22‑23.
Following changes in state requirements, a telephone line was installed in the elevator machine room.
Lloyd Riley, Monroe Township, met with the commission requesting that David Maxwell be appointed to fill a vacancy on the township board. David Cox made a motion to accept the recommendation. Danny Heldenbrand seconded. Cox ‑ yes; Heldenbrand ‑ yes; Critten ‑ yes.
In the afternoon, the commission attended a joint meeting in Maysville with the DeKalb County Commission concerning the regional jail.
The clerk reported that proceed orders have been sent for all townships and road districts except one.
The Daviess County Health Department contacted the Commission reporting that they are installing some new floor covering in their part of the building on South Main Street.

Sheriff’s Office
Dale Richardson, 36, Breckenridge, was arrested Nov. 10 for failure to appear on a probation and parole violation on an original felony charge of passing bad checks. Bond was denied.
Raven Williams, 17, Des Moines, Iowa, was arrested Nov. 14 for misdemeanor speeding and possession of marijuana. She posted $850 bond.
Penny Whitt, 43, Jamesport, was charged Nov. 13 with felony child abuse and misdemeanor assault on law enforcement, with bond set at $25,000. On a Harrison County probation and parole warrant for an original charge of stealing, bond is set at $15,000.
Malong Diing, 30, Des Moines, Iowa, was arrested Nov. 13 for misdemeanor DWI and speeding, and posted $500 bond.
Shannon Lloyd, 40, Mary Esther, Fla., was charged Nov. 15 with misdemeanor DWI. Bond was set at $500.
Circuit Court
Before Judge James Valbracht in Livingston County Circuit Court, a three‑day jury trial was set for Shane E. Ott. He is charged with three counts of discharging firearm from vehicle, one count of armed criminal action, and one count of assault first degree in connection with a shooting that occurred at Lake Viking on July 4, 2010. The trial is set for Jan 25‑27, 2011. The case is a change of venue from Daviess County
