Twelve Gallatin FFA members attended te 83rd National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind., from Oct. 20-23. Over 55,0000 FFA members from all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands and Guam were present for this year’s convention. This figure represents about 11% of the overall membership.

Upon arrival, members attended the opening session and were treated to television personality Josh Shipp from the show Jump Shipp. Following the opening session, the members attended a Lady Antebellum concert. The popular group has had four number one hits including: "I Run to You"; "Need You Now"; "Our Kind of Love"; and "American Honey."

On day two, members visited the trade and career show along with the afternoon session which had the theme: "Maximizing Our Potential."

Day three was filled with a tour of a 500 cow dairy. This facility uses state of the art equipment and each cow is milked three times a day. The afternoon tour was a trip to the Indianapolis Zoo.

Saturday morning was the final session with the American Degree Ceremony. Three members from the Gallatin Chapter received this, the highest degree a member can receive. These members were Kelly Critten, Derrick Sprague and Maggie Strange.
