A squirrel got into a Northwest Electric Cooperative substation located just outside of Gallatin causing a power outage from 12:45-3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 7.
This substation supplies power to Gallatin and the surrounding area. City crews were preparing to start the city’s generators to supply power to the town when the call was received that the repairs to the substation were almost complete.
"We would like to take this opportunity remind citizens of our textcaster," said City Administrator Zac Johnson. "We feel this is a prime example of why it is beneficial. We sent out a text message stating the problem and that crews were working on the situation."
If anyone has any question about textcaster or needs help setting it up on their phone, contact city hall at 663-2011.
