Robert Noland Watson, 86, Gallatin passed away on Sunday evening, Nov. 7, 2010 at the Cameron Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Peru Nebraska on April 19, 1924 to Robert Lee and Kittie Melvina (Hart) Watson.
Bob lived most of his life in Gallatin, where he met his soon to be wife, Virginia Lee Cox. They were married on July 19, 1946 in Muncie, Kan. They were married for 60 wonderful years. She passed on Nov. 25, 2006.
Bob served in the Army for three years during World War II. He was recognized for his service by being awarded two bronze stars and a Good Conduct Medal.
He then worked for the Iron Workers Local 10 for several years before retiring.
Bob was well known for all of his woodworking projects and all of the many projects and jobs he did for so many people in the Gallatin community.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Virginia Lee Watson; Brothers, Uel Watson; Noah "Slim" Watson, Loren "Bud"Watson; Maurice Watson; Sisters, Mary Holliday, Daisy Conner, Katherine Tosspon, Frances Hacker, Juanita Wiles and Winnie Watson.
Survivors: Daughter and son-in-law, Judy Carol and Don Edwards, Cameron, Mo.; two granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Kelly and Glen Huffman, Gallatin, Mo.; Kristy and Bill Gitthens, Cameron, Mo.; three great-grandsons, Issac Huffman, Gallatin, Cody and Chris Gitthens, Cameron; two great-granddaughters, Ashley Huffman, Gallatin and Nicole Gitthens, Cameron.
Bob and Virginia were the most outstanding people and good examples of how a parent, grandparent, friend and neighbor should be.
