Pattonsburg’s mayor and city clerk attended a meeting on Oct. 5 in Gallatin at the county library to discuss the possibility of forming a cooperative municipal court system for the small towns in Daviess County.

During the meeting a resolution was passed to appoint one member from each town or village to join the committee in order to explore the idea of cooperation on matters of mutual interest. Mayor Gene Walker was appointed to represent Pattonsburg.
In other business at the meeting of the Pattonsburg Board of Aldermen held Oct. 13, bills were paid and monthly reports were reviewed.
The water department finalized the trade-in transaction and now owns a 2010 GMC four-wheel-drive pickup.
A representative from FEMA was in town Sept. 28 to look at the streets and drainage ditches for damage caused by the rain through June 12 to July 31. He said another representative from FEMA would be sent to assess the damage as well.
Chris Gardner expressed concerns with the drainage that runs through the west side of his property. He said it still stays wet in that spot, even after the drainage tubes were put in.
A council member had been approached about the slide at the park. The top bolts need to be looked at.
Economic Developer Richard Mooney had presented a 2020 Project Plan for Pattonsburg earlier and the board accepted this plan.
The board donated $50 to the fire department for the hay ride.
A farmer approached the council about cash renting city land for row crops. The issue was tabled until next month.
