Carolyn Jo Akins, 72, Altamont, Mo., passed away Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010 at her home.

She was born June 3, 1938 in Jamesport, Mo., the daughter of Joseph William and Mary Margaret (Barnett) Saunders.
On Aug. 24, 1958, she married Bob Akins in Jamesport. He survives of the home.
Carolyn was manager of the Casey’s General Store.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Mary Alice Saunders, Angel Potter, and Billie O’Dell.
Survivors in addition to her husband are a son, W. W. "Bill" (Angie) Akins, Cameron, Mo.; daughter, Mary (Darrel) Price, Altamont, Mo.; grandchildren, Haylee Jo and Hunter W. Akins and Darrel Price, Jr.; and sister, Pat Saunders, Altamont, Mo.
Memorial services were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, at the Bible Baptist Church, Cameron, Mo., under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, Mo. The family received friends from 2-3 p.m. Saturday at the church. Carolyn has been cremated. Memorials may be made to the Comfort Care Hospice in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O.
