Gallatin High School senior Tyler Avriette tried out for All State Choir Oct. 23, and made second alternate tenor. According to Sheryl Warren, music instructor at GHS, only four tenors plus two alternates were chosen out of approximately 40 that auditioned from the Northwest District.
It has been 25 years since a male vocalist from Gallatin made All State Choir. It has been 12 years since a female from Gallatin has been selected. The All State Choir will perform at the Missouri Music Educators’ Association Conference held at Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach on Jan. 29, 2011. All-State Band performs the same day. Tyler is the son of Doug and Michelle Avriette of Gallatin.
