The Gallatin Pride Band has had a very successful marching season under the direction of Gene Edwards. They wrapped it up with last Saturday’s competition at the Missouri Days in Trenton. The band went home from Trenton on Oct. 16 with a first place trophy in drum line and second place in flags and parade. This means a total of six first place trophies and four second place for the students this marching season. It was an emotional ending performance for some in Trenton last Saturday as the students performed their drum line routine for the last time. Every senior in band was in this year’s drum line.

They kicked off the season with Carrollton band days on Sept. 24. Gallatin students took home three trophies at the first competition of the year; first place in drum line, first place in auxiliary flags, and second in parade.

The band headed to Fayette on Oct. 2 for their next competition and placed first in drum line and flags and second in parade.

The band’s only competition was at a parade in St. Joseph where they took first place on Oct. 9.

The Gallatin Pride Band Drum Line was undefeated this season and has consistently placed first in all competitions for the last seven years. The students have demonstrated great skill under the direction of Jay Albright and Gene Edwards.

Students are pushed to put forth their best efforts and receive the recompense of their hard work at competitions and special trips such as the upcoming one to Washington D.C. to play in the Independence Day Parade. Congratulations to everyone who helped make this great season possible! The band, their parents and band boosters appreciate everyone in the community for the support they have shown as the students strive toward excellence.
