The deadline for submitting artwork for the "Local Artists Showcase 5" in the Dorris Rider Gallery at North Central Missouri College in Trenton has been extended through Friday, Oct. 22.

This collection of works by area artists will begin the 2010-2011 exhibition schedule in the Rider Art Gallery, which is located in the Frey Administrative Center on the college campus in downtown Trenton. "Local Artists Showcase 5" will open on Oct. 25 and run through November 19.
"This show is always a great indicator of some of the artistic talent we have in this area," said Gallery Director Jim Norris. "We expect several skill levels in the show, from hobbyist to professional artist. All in all, it makes for a very nice exhibit."
Artists can submit up to two pieces of original art that has not been previously shown in the Rider Gallery. Any media is acceptable, but some pieces may not be accepted due to size constraints or content. Those interested should contact Director Norris at the College at 660-359-3948 ext. 1345.
"This show has become a yearly event at the gallery," said Norris. "And with each exhibit, the quality of the work entered gets better and better. All members of the general public are invited to visit during regular gallery hours of 8:30 a.m. till 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Admission is free."
