Members from Gallatin FCCLA experience the “Power of Leadership”

Students from Gallatin FCCLA attended the 2010 Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America Region 2 meeting on Oct. 6, at the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Liberty. Over 550 members were in attendance. The meeting centered around the Region 2 theme "The Power of Leadership." Members were motivated during the conference to go back to their schools and be strong leaders in their families and communities. Former Harlem Globetrotter Melvin Adams was the guest speaker from Houston, Texas. He grew up in a poor area of Houston. He has overcome incredibly negative circumstances in his life to achieve the dream of playing professional basketball. Melvin spoke to the delegation about overcoming obstacles, making positive choices, respecting others, and creating strong families.
