The Active Aging Resource Center will be the site for a workshop/assistance program for seniors or the disabled. Vera Nelson, the aging and disability resource coordinator for Daviess County, will host the event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 8.

The event will feature Janna Barton from the Green Hills Community Action Agency, as well as others from this agency. They will be available as a "one stop" shop to assist income eligible seniors or the disabled to apply for heating assistance, housing programs of rent and property tax assistance for te 2010 tax season.
Vera Nelson will be on site to assist those Medicare recipients with the Part D worksheets for the 2011 year. Medicare is making many changes that will affect those Part D plans and Deanna Lewis, administrator, and Vera Nelson will be at the Center to assist those Medicare participants to enroll in the best value program.
Free give-aways and a drawing will be held for all those signing in for the event. Donuts and cookies will be served in the morning before the Friday lunch at the Active Aging Resource Center. Lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 12:30.
