Paul Haverland, 50, Greenwood, received minor injuries in an accident that happened at about 9:43 a.m. on Sept. 29, about a half mile west of Gallatin.
According to a report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Haverland and Raleigh Haney, 49, Chattanooga, Tenn., were both eastbound on Hwy. 6. Haverland, driving a 2000 Ford pickup, moved partially into the right turning lane. Haney, driving a 2009 Peterbilt tractor trailer, moved into the left lane to pass Haverland. Haverland made a left turn from the right turn lane and traveled into the path of Haney. Haney struck the driver’s door of Haverland’s pickup. Both vehicles came to rest blocking the westbound lane of Hwy. 6.
Haverland was taken by Daviess County Ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center. He was wearing his seat belt.
The pickup was totaled. The semi was moderately damaged.
The accident was investigated by Tpr. A.K. Griffin, assisted by Cpl. L.M. Newman, the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, and the Gallatin Fire Department.
