Graveside service and interment for Patricia McDowell were held Monday, Sept. 26, at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements were by Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. The family suggests memorial gifts to Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church Building Fund.

Patricia Sue (Poe) McDowell died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, at a local health care facility.
Mrs. McDowell was born Nov. 4, 1933, in McFall. She lived most of her life in St. Joseph. She graduated from Central High School in 1951.
On Nov. 26, 1953, she married Orville "Sonny" McDowell, who preceded her in death in 2005.
Mrs. McDowell worked as a secretary for Herman Drug Store and a sidewalk teller for the American National Bank. She also worked at Farmer’s Equipment Company and Rhulman Plumbing.
She was a member of Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church, where she served in the choir, building committee, as the nursery administrator, Sunday school teacher, and Acteen leader.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Zell and Georgia Rose Poe; and great-granddaughter, Rose Ruiz in 2009.
Survivors include one daughter, Tamara Diane Knisley; two sisters: Barbara Rocklage, Overland Park, Kan., and Candy Winkleman, St. Joseph; two grandchildren and one stepgrandchild; and one great-grandchild.
