Robert Hunt, 52, Independence, was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center by Daviess County Ambulance with minor injuries from an accident that happened at about 8:55 p.m. on Sept. 13, after he lost control of his vehicle in a thunderstorm.

According to a report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Hunt was southbound on I-35 seven miles north of Winston in a 2003 Ford Ranger. He was traveling through heavy wind and rain. He lost control and the vehicle skidded off the left inside shoulder, overturned one-and-one-half times and came to rest on its top in the median facing northeast. The pickup was pulling a small trailer.

Hunt was wearing his seat belt.

The Ranger was totaled.

The accident was investigated by Tpr. J.R. Zach, assisted by Tpr. A.J. Webb, the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office and Daviess County First Responders.
