The Fireballz 16 and under Fast Pitch Softball team out of Albany competed in the 16 A World Series hosted through Legends and Mid-America Sports Production in July 2010. The 87 USSSA teams competing from all over the mid-west were also positioned for college recruiting during the World Series.

The Gallatin girls competing with the Fireballz, coached by Bill and Ted Clemmons were each chosen from their team to wear college recruiting arm bands. Horvatin, Hefley and Nelson all play in an older division than they are required, but chose to "play up" for more competitive play time. During the world series, Marissa McNeely caught all games and only allowed five steals. Morgan Horvatin, Kaitlyn Hefley and Aubrey Nelson were each chosen from the opposing team and coaches for MVP at each respective pool play game. Gallatin Fireballz team members will play fall league through the USSSA, after school play has finalized for the season.
