The Pattonsburg FFA Officer team has been busy this summer. In June, the officer team consisting of: Justin Conover, Scott Conover, Sarah Emerson, Dillon Lowrey, Emily Dilley, Courtney Warford, Aaron Hulett, and adviser Landon Snook traveled to Trenton for the LEAD conference. At the conference, the officers learned how to become an efficient officer team and better serve the chapter. They created a code of conduct that each officer is expected to follow. In addition, they came with some new fun activities and ideas for the chapter to try.

June 30 through July 2, the officer team attended officer retreat at Mozingo Lake in Maryville. At Mozingo, they were able to go swimming, canoeing, trap shooting, and do climbing courses. These activities taught the officers to push themselves past their comfort zones and be able to trust other team members. Past Missouri State FFA President Walter Redden visited the kids one night and played several different critical thinking and team building activities with them. Chapter Vice President Scott Conover quotes, "Retreat was a fun time and I think it really helped us officers become a better team."

At the beginning of August, the officers went to Chillicothe for officer training put on by the Area II officers. Each officer was taught the responsibilities of their office; they also competed against other chapters in Ag Olympics. A few days later, some members of the chapter met at the ag shop to make fresh flower arrangements to enter in the Missouri State Fair. Sarah Emerson and Emily Dilley received Gold Ratings on their bridal bouquets. Dillon Lowrey, Scott Conover, Gage Davis, Samantha Parman, and Courtney Warford entered corsages and each earned Silver Ratings.

Coming up on Sept. 8, the chapter is hosting a Welcome Back BBQ. All members and their parents are welcome to attend! There will be lots of food and games including a watermelon bust and seed-spitting contest.
