NCMC Instructor David Nowland and goat producer and Trans Ova employee Stanton Warren will be our featured judges. This is a competition, but youth will also have the opportunity to work on their judging abilities. Our judges will give the official placings and discuss judging techniques with youth. The top junior and senior team of four will receive a plaque in addition to the top two junior and top two senior judging members.
The contest will be based on the State 4-H Livestock Judging competition. The species to be judged will include beef, sheep, goats, and swine. We will have 6-7 classes for youth to judge.
The North MO Livestock Contest is open to all 4-H and FFA youth ages 8-18. Project leaders, advisors, and adults are welcome. Registration will be from 7:45–8:15 a.m. and judging will be over by approximately 11:30 with awards to follow. The cost for the event is $5 by Aug. 25 and $7 day of the contest. Registration forms and more information can be found at your local extension office, or on the 4-H page at http://extension.missouri.edu/livingston/.
