The Tax Rate Hearing was held and the state authorized maximum tax rate for this year was adopted.
Tom Kober said a number of delinquency letters have been sent out. The board moved $1,500 from reserve savings into utilities checking.
Melvin McFee said that the equipment for sewer maintenance is running well. He sprayed around the fences and will be getting the post in and fence back up soon.
Bill Michael reported that the grader has been repaired as authorized and is now operational. He said that most of the lights are not working because of rust and damage. The chairman asked him to get an estimate for repairing or replacing the lights.
Randy Turner reported that the kitchen sink project at the Town Hall is in progress, but that the donated sink might not work. He and Bill Michael will look it over and see what can be done with it.
The semi-annual financial statements were posted July 7 at the Town Hall, Pit Stop, post office, park, firehouse, and Michael Enterprises.
The clerk attended the Colfax Township meeting and the township board indicated that they will continue to grade and remove snow on the Division & 3rd school route.
The street tax will expire next year unless it is put on the ballot again. The chairman directed the clerk to prepare an ordinance authorizing a ballot question to renew the street tax at the same rate.
An ordinance was approved to revise payments for administrative fees from annual to monthly.
Chairman Eaton will initiate a dog patrol. They will also talk with people where violations of ordinances are observed, including those where unlicensed vehicles are seen on the street, in an attempt to resolve the problems before resorting to notices of warning or violation.
