The Graves-Chapple Farm Crop Farmers’ Tour will be held Aug. 24 three miles north of Corning on I-29. Take exit 99 to the east outer road.
The first tours begin at 8:30 a.m. A free lunch will be served at 12:15. The last tour leaves the building at 11:30 a.m.
There will be three field tours with topics including: optimum corn and soybean planting populations and row width; new soybean varieties released by MU; different nitrogen products and application timing; new insect pests to watch for in your fields; key diseases to watch for when considering fungicide application; glyphosate tolerant ragweed found locally; production of woody biomass crops; using new technology to estimate crop yield potential and variable rate seeding; reducing nitrogen costs by using real-time sensors and variable rate technology.
