Funeral services for Margaret Cole were held Aug. 2 at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Cremation followed the service and inurnment will be at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Active Aging Resource Center in Gallatin, in care of the funeral home.

Margaret S. Cole, 79, Gallatin, died July 29, 2010, at Daviess County Nursing and Rehab.
Margaret was born July 3, 1931, to Charles and Gladys (Anderson) Goodwin in Kansas City, where she was raised. After graduating from Northeast High School, she went to San Diego, Calif., to care for her brother J.D., and also worked for Sears Roebuck.
Margaret returned to Kansas City five years later and married Elzra Cole in 1954. He preceded her in death in 2005. The couple made their home in the city and raised four children, Sandy, Tim, Leslie and Jayne. Due to failing health, she later moved to Gallatin to be near her children.
Margaret was a receptionist at a doctor’s office for several years.
Margaret was preceded in death by her son, Leslie Cole; and brothers J.D. Goodwin and Gary Burge.
Survivors include two daughters, Sandy Dame and Jayne Cole; one son, Timothy Cole; three brothers, Richard Burge, David Goodwin, Charles Goodwin; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
