Pattonsburg R-2 will start the new school year at 8:06 a.m. on Aug. 18. Breakfast will be served at 7:40 a.m. and school will be dismissed at 3 p.m.

Grades 7-12 registration will be Thursday Aug. 5 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and on Friday, Aug. 6, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Seventh grade students and their parents will meet at 5 p.m. on Aug.16 for orientation in the gym. Elementary school students will have Meet the Teachers Night from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 16. Please bring your school supplies that night.

In other business at the meeting of the Pattonsburg R-2 Board of Education held Monday, July 19, the board approved student handbooks, bus routes, and continued membership in MARE.

The following bids were accepted: diesel (MFA), gasoline (MFA), bread (Hy-Vee), waste removal (Veolia), and milk (Roberts).

Eligibility requirement for free and reduced meals were approved. The prices were kept the same as last year. Elementary students will pay $1 for breakfast, high school students will pay $1.25, and adults will pay $2. Lunch will cost $1.50 for elementary, $1.75 for high school and $2.75 for adults. Reduced breakfast will cost 30 cents for elementary and high school students and lunch will cost 40 cents.

Winston will transport Pattonsburg students to Vo-Tech in Bethany again this year.

The Board was very pleased with the repairs Watkins Roofing out of Gilman City made this summer to the roof. The roof was damaged by heavy sheets of ice last winter.

The annual audit by Westbrook and Co. will be Aug. 4 and 6.

The Tax Rate Hearing will be at 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 16. The regular meeting will follow afterwards at 7:15 p.m.
