The week of June 21-25 10 Gallatin FFA members and one advisor attended the State FFA Leadership Camp at Camp Rising Sun at Lake of the Ozarks. The theme of this year’s camp was "Expedition FFA." The students worked in leadership sessions every morning to improve their leadership and team building skills. There were presentations from the Missouri Department of Conservation, and many other industry and collegiate groups, encouraging the student to work hard and be successful.
In addition to the leadership session the students were able to enjoy other events that included archery, waterfront activities, trap shooting, sports tournament play, a night at the Main Street Opry, and a dance held at the camp.
Those campers from Gallatin receiving awards and special recognition were Kelsey Bird: state leadership medal; Marissa McNeely: state leadership medal; Lorne Demke: all-around camper from Gallatin and member of the swamp canoe race champion team.[Submitted Photo]
