Skits, dances, motivational speakers and officer elections were a few highlights of the 65th annual State 4-H Congress, June 4-6, at the University of Missouri.
Two 4-H members from Daviess County were among the more than 290 young people who attended the MU Extension event. Local delegates included Breanne Brammer and Danielle Ness of the Gallatin Knee-Hi 4-H Club. Congress activities included educational sessions on outdoor activities, public speaking, marketing, healthy lifestyles, Science, Engineering and Technology (SET), Missouri climate and weather, and a presentation and tour of the University of Missouri veterinarian school. A highlight of the learning sessions included the Second Annual Show-Me Chef Contest where the youth created and prepared a salad recipe featuring Missouri grown products.
