Park by-laws submitted by the mayor were reviewed during the regular meeting of the Dockery Park Board held May 20. In a 6-2 motion, the board voted to not approve the by-laws due to conflict with state statutes.
Lights on the ballfield were discussed. Many bulbs are out and lamps need adjusted. A committee to check into new lighting for the ballfield was formed and includes Greg Lollar, Casey Griffin, Jeremy Holcomb and Mike Butcher.
Bills totaling $15,019.98 were approved for payment.
Ray Clevenger asked for the use of the park building for the VFW fish fry, which the board allowed.
A mistake was made regarding pay for soccer refs. They were only paid half of what they should have been. The board will request city hall cut checks for the difference.
Baseball umpires are in place for the season. Trophies for the tournament will need to be picked up and paid for.
Matt Adkison will be asked to investigate the scoreboard issues and place an estimate for repair.
A concession sign-up sheet was passed around. A motion to purchase further supplies passed. A popcorn machine needs to be taken to the concession stand.
Discussion was held on Adult League Softball. Greg Lollar will head the sport. Softballs and other needed equipment will be purchased.
Many projects have been completed by community service workers. Someone is needed to clean the bathrooms. Currently community service workers have been doing it.
The new rental agreement was reviewed.
Several dead trees in the park were allowed to be removed by local men that would like the wood.
Lights in the playground area need to be replaced. A new flag will be purchased. Handicap and bathroom signs which have been stolen from the park will be replaced.
Comments were made about items found on the ball field recently.
The company that replaced the grandstand roof will be asked to repair a section of fence near the roof where balls can come through.
The OATS Bus Board will not be allowed to use the building for free since no one attended the meeting.
Attendance issues were discussed.
Reappointments were discussed. Prospective members include James Owings, Mike Huffman, Bill McLey, Ricky Hendricks, Terri Wright, and Jennifer Johnson (on Johnson St.).

At a special meeting on May 6, a motion was made to allow a player to join a team after the sign-up deadline by a vote of 4-3. The allowance would be made as long as the Tri-County League was willing to add the player to the roster. The player would also have to be willing to pay all fees and get the required shirt. (The player was not added to the team as the player did not complete the necessary paperwork.)

During a special meeting on April 21, Brett Adkison addressed the board regarding a T-ball issue. A single mother of twins who resides in Hamilton needs her children to be on the same team as the Adkison children. Mr. Adkison, who also lives in Hamilton, needed his son moved to a different Gallatin T-ball team. The board carried a motion allow the Adkison child to be moved.
More discussion was held regarding the drawing of teams from hats and shirt orders.
Tim Bradford addressed the board regarding the number of players on the T-ball and K-ball teams. Most teams have 14 players this season. Teams have been held to 10 or 11 players in previous seasons. The number of players was not changed by the board as shirts had already been ordered.
Two people addressed the board regarding coaching issues. They signed up to coach and were not selected to coach this season.

Bills were paid in the amount of $4,449.76 were approved for payment when the Gallatin Park Board met on April 15.
A motion carried to send a letter to all groups that request the use of the park building without charge regarding board policy on the matter. A copy of the letter was taken to city hall.
A baseball report was given.
Two metal 450-gallon trash baskets were purchased for $162 each along with the lids for $80 each.
Jeremy Holcomb was reimbursed a tank of gas for his trips to Lawson.
