Chief Richards explained the "We Tip" program that he would like to bring to Gallatin to the Gallatin Board of Aldermen during their regular meeting held Monday, June 14, at city hall.
The purpose of the program is to provide an anonymous crime reporting resource to residents, students and businesses throughout Gallatin.
Police Chief Mark Richards submitted a report on activity from May 24 to June 14 with the following reports taken and tickets given: one gas leak; one juvenile on golf cart; one property damage; one business fire; one burglary; two open door at business; one warrant arrest; one attempt to locate; one open bus door at school; one lost or stolen license plate; one open door at school; one accident; one medical assist; one protective custody; one unattended death; one harassment; two attempted suicide; one well being check. There are no dogs in the pound.
Bills in the amount of $138,151.95 were approved for payment.
City Administrator Zac Johnson stated the closing on the refinancing of the electric system was completed on May 27.

An ordinance amending the city code relating to street excavations received a first and second reading.
Discussion was held on proposals for the hot mix project for this summer. The board accepted APAC’s proposal of $61,344 to hot mix Richardson Street from Main to Olive.
Discussion was held on a proposal from Wideband regarding computer issues at city hall. The board accepted Wideband’s proposal on the ethernet switch and one year support for approximately $1,600.
Mr. Johnson stated that USDA is requiring Gallatin to build a lime-softening water plant for the new water plant project.
Mr. Johnson discussed the loader needing major repairs, capacity tests for the generators, lightning striking well #2, and continual issues at the water plant.
Comments by aldermen were made regarding cemetery stones in need of repair, drainage issue on Park Street, Christmas decorations, banners and the display of signs by organizations.
The board entered into closed session pursuant to hiring, firing, disciplining or promoting employees.
Public comments were made regarding an electric usage issue, water rates and sewer rates.
