The Gallatin RV Student Council and Ladies Auxiliary Frank Frazier Post 2172 Veteran of Foreign War partnered together early Saturday morning on Memorial weekend to pass out Buddy Poppies.

Since 1922, the Buddy Poppy has been an integral part of the VFW community. As VFW’s official memorial flower, the poppy represents the blood shed by American service members. It reiterates that VFW will not forget their sacrifices. The Buddy Poppies are still assembled by disabled and needy veterans in VA hospitals. The money collected goes to veteran projects.
Student Council members took a break from their duties and got the honor of meeting Jub Tomlinson and Jess Reynolds, two service men who survived the attack on Pearl Harbor. It was a rare treat to meet a part of our American history.
