Hilary Marshall was offered an elementary teaching position after an executive session of the regular meeting of the North Daviess R-3 Board of Education held May 18. The board accepted the resignation of Patrick McDonald. Speech services with Nancy Edwards will be continued for the 2010-2011 school year.

Henry Rhoades was offered the high school custodial position. James R. Cook Jr. was offered the elementary custodial position.
The high school secretarial position was changed from a 12 month position to a 10 month position.
Jessica Nelson has participated and completed the required board member training.
The board accepted mowing bids by Jim Cook for the high school grounds and Stacey Lewis for the elementary school grounds (4 yes, 3 abstain – Jason Lewis, Jeremy Hunter, Debbie Ray).
The board adopt several policies (6 yes, 1 No).
Becky Morris and Charlotte Claussen were approved to sign checks.
A motion was made not to participate in the Aces Special Education Coop (4 yes, 3 no).
Mrs. Morris presented the support staff evaluations. She also presented the extra duty assignments for the school year 2010-2011, which the board approved.
Mrs. Morris presented the summer maintenance list which included floor repairs to the elementary building. It was tabled until next month.
The district received two nurse applications. The position was tabled until next month.
During administrative reports, it was noted that the spring music program went well. The elementary installed Smart Boards in four of the classrooms. The "Student of Month" at the elementary is Gabriel Loucks.
The following students received second place at their respective grade level in the Daviess County Soil Conservation Poster contest: Robyn Sprague, third grade; Blythe Hunter, fourth grade; Draiven McGuire, fifth grade; and Brooke Dustman, sixth grade. Sixth grade students were recognized with a short program. Fourth quarter/end of the year awards assembly was held at the elementary.
The high school graduation was held with eight students graduating. The seniors took their senior trip in Tennessee.
The board entered into executive session for employee matters.
A motion carried to assign Mrs. Morris the duty of scheduling the bus drivers for the extracurricular trips.
Next board meeting was set for 7 p.m. on Friday, June 11, at Coffey.
