Two men were arrested at the intersection of Missouri Route V and Missouri 190 on May 15 after being stopped for not having a working license plate lamp.

Patrick Cope, 30, Chillicothe, was charged with possession of controlled substance, class C felony, and misdemeanor drug paraphernalia. Daniel Weaver, 30, Lock Springs, a passenger in the vehicle, was charged with unlawful possession of illegal weapon and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia
During the traffic stop, Cope consented to a vehicle search which revealed sudafed and oxycodone, as well as two syringes and other items.
After Deputy Todd Watson explained to Weaver that he had been receiving information that Weaver was selling and manufacturing methamphetamines at his residence, Weaver denied the allegations and consented to a search of his residence. He admitted having an illegal firearm at the residence.
Officers of the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol searched Weaver’s residence and located a shotgun which had been altered. Officers also found items in a car at the residence consistent with methamphetamine. Weaver’s criminal history shows 10 felony charges and five misdemeanors with no convictions listed.
Both men are being held on $35,000 bond.
