"These had to be the worst two days we had to play all year," he said of wind, cold and rain that affected golf scores Friday at the Cameron Tournament and Monday at the Grand River Conference Tournament in Maysville.

GHS golfers combined for a team score of 386 that finished 15th of 18 teams competing in Cameron. Terrill Wood’s low team score was good for 29th out of 90 golfers. Wesley Cole shot 94, followed by Logan Henderson 101, Jim Willet 105 and Brad Berten 118.

Cameron took the team title with a 293.

Gallatin finished sixth (436) of the nine golfing schools at Monday’s league meet. South Harrison won the team title with a 392, followed closely by Worth County’s 394.

Wood, whose score of 96 was good enough for a tie for eighth, slipped to tenth overall after a scorecard playoff, still good for an all-conference spot and medal. Willet finished with a 106, Henderson shot 109, Cole added a 125 and Berten chipped in a 139.

The Bulldogs are in action this afternoon at Stanberry and will compete in the district tournament at Richmond on Monday along with Concordia, KC Lutheran, Maysville, Meadville, Mid-Buchanan, Norborne, Orrick, St. Paul, Tina-Avalon, University Academy and Wentworth.
