by FCCLA 1st Vice President Abbi Porter

The GHS FCCLA awards and installation ceremony was held on April 20. President Levi Michener started the ceremony by giving a welcoming speech. Abbi Porter started with the STAR Events awards and recognition.

State STAR Events were held on March 21-23 in Columbia. The following participants were recognized at the State STAR Events recognition ceremony: Jr. Chapter Service Project Manual- Kaitlyn Hefley, Kailey Elbert, and Bailey Morrison: Silver, Jr. Chapter Service Project Manual- Kaitlyn McNeely, Caleb Hearon, and Hannah Boyd: Top Gold and advancing on to Nationals, and Jr. Live Event Planning- Garrett McNeely and Blake Brockmeyer: National STAR Events Competition will be in July in Chicago, Ill. Kaitlyn McNeely.

Len Deutschman honored outstanding members from each grade. Outstanding members are: eighth grade- Kaityln McNeely, ninth grade- Hannah Boyd and Caleb Hearon, 10th Grade- Abbi Porter, 11th Grade- Bailey Bozarth, and 12th Grade- Levi Michener Hannah Boyd honored seniors who have been in FCCLA at least three years.

Seniors were Carly Boyd, Tesla Davis, Molly Lowe, Levi Michener, Nicole Middaugh, Ashley Owens, Sierria Rainey, Alex Richards, and Chelsey Smith. Bailey Bozarth presented the Senior Scholarship, which was awarded to Levi Michener.

After awards and recognition, the Gallatin FCCLA Chapter installed its 2010-2011 Officers. New officers are: president- Bailey Bozarth, vice president- Abbi Porter, second vice president- Len Deutschman, secretary- Hannah Boyd, treasurer- Caleb Hearon, and public relations-

Levi Michener gave his farewell speech. Refreshments were served.
