Members of the Gallatin R-5 Future Business Leaders of America Chapter recently attended the 2010 Missouri FBLA Leadership Conference held April 18-20 in Columbia.

The Parliamentary Procedures team of Jamie Brinnen, Carly Boyd, Kaymon Witt, Breanne Brammer and Bethany Harris received first place in the state FBLA contest.
Others winning recognition at the state conference were: Ashley Owens, sixth place in Public Speaking II; Alex Richards and Savannah Butcher, fifth place in Business Plan Project; Mattie Burge, seventh place in Public Speaking I; Addey Gann, ninth place in Word Processing II; Jamie Brinnen, seventh place in Ms. Future Business Leader and second place in Who’s Who in MO FBLA.
Brinnen and Witt were also chosen as members of the Missouri Parliamentary Procedures Team. Two members of the Gallatin R-5 FBLA chapter will be attending the national leadership conference from July 14-17 in Nashville, Tenn.
Barb Holcomb is the local chapter advisor and accompanied the students to the state conference.

FBLA is a career and technical student organization for all high school students participating in business programs. Over 2,750 members and advisors representing 426 chapters throughout the state met to elect state officers, transact business of the state chapter, participate in leadership and career workshops and compete in the state leadership awards program.
