Volunteers signed up to be part of rescues; to foster homes for animals waiting for placement; to help with transporting animals to their foster homes or permanent homes; and to help with fund-raising. Daviess County Sheriff Ben Becerra said his office will make every effort to work with and to support the Daviess County Humane Society. The society’s president, Pam Testi, said the organization is very excited to have support on a county level from the sheriff’s office. "We want to help as many animals as possible who are abused, neglected or abandoned," she said. "We are here to help if you know of an animal that is not being taken care of properly, or is hungry or mistreated." The Daviess County Humane Society encourages involvement from the community and welcomes people to be a part of the group’s efforts. Pictured is Sheriff Ben Becerra and Pam Testi.
