Gallatin varsity track athletes travel to South Harrison on Thursday for a final tune up before the Grand River Conference meet to be held next Monday at Albany. The meet was originally scheduled for South Harrison High School but the venue was changed last week.

The Bulldogs will head to Richmond on May 8 for the Class 2, District 8 meet.

First place finishes for Gallatin at Albany included Tyler Brackett’s sweep of the 100- and 200-meter dashes in 11.58 and 23.18, respectively, and Donovan Stout’s victory in the 800-meter run (2:11.23).

Following are additional GHS points picked up at Albany: Girls 3200m run: Sarah Smith, fourth, 15:56.82. Boys 3200m run: Shadow Phillips, eighth, 12:17.04. Boys 110mhurdles: Cody Engel, seventh, 19.08. Boys 1600m relay: (Chad Ness, Isaac Mattis, Derrick Lin, Stout), fourth, 3:53.21. Boys 3200m relay: (Blake Brockmeyer, Phillips, Lin, Stout), sixth., 9:33.86. Boys long jump: Brackett, third, 19-4.50. Boys pole vault: Chad Ness, third, 11-0; Mattis, sixth, 10-0.

Also competing for the Bulldogs were: Kendra Bradley, long jump and 100- and 200-meter dash; Alyison Widner, 200- and 400-meter dash; Kaley Esbeck, 800-meter run; Shelby Springer, shot put and discus; Kylie Cameron, shot put and discus; Colton Selby, 100-meter dash, long jump and triple jump; Micah Ray, 400-meter dash; Lin, 800-meter run and discus; John Corwin and Cole McDaniel, 1600-meter run; Landon Smith, 3200-meter run; Phillips, 300-meter hurdles; Brockmeyer, high jump and triple jump; Jack Malo, shot put and discus; and Lorne Demke, shot put.

GHS boys relay teams which did not place at Albany were: 400meters (Selby, Mattis, Ness and Brackett); and 800meters (Ness, Mattis, Jordan Jeffers, Stout).

The Bulldogs took part in the Stanberry Bulldogs Relays on Tuesday but those results were not posted by press time.
