Monica Hanson from Gallatin High School is among those selected to participate in the 2010 Missouri Fine Arts Academy on the campus of Missouri State University at Springfield from June 6-26.

About 150 talented visual and performing artists from high schools across the sate are selected for the competitive program.
Students at the Academy participate in interdisciplinary course work, where various aspects of the arts are explored, experienced, and integrated. A part of the curricular day is devoted to applied instruction in each student’s area of artistic expertise. This applied instruction, along with discipline-specific classes, makes up the afternoon schedules. Evenings are packed with cultural, educational, and social functions to broaden each student’s experiences as an artist, a learner, and a citizen.
