Bobby Zimmer, age 46, a resident of Chillicothe, Mo., passed away on March 26, 2010, at Hedrick Medical Center. He was born the son of Henry Zimmer and Betty Zimmer at Axtell Hospital in Princeton, Mo., on May 8, 1963.

Bob was a devoted and loving father for 12 ½ years to daughter Bobbi Jo.

He was a distributor for Gallatin Publishing for the past 10 years. He had also worked as a carrier for the St. Joseph News Press, the Constitution-Tribune, and the Ad Pages when it first started in Chillicothe.

He was a 1981 graduate of Chillicothe High School where he was active in the "Marching Hornets," concert chorale, and football all four years. He attended Hanibal LaGrange College in Hannibal.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church and a former member of Calvary Baptist Church, both in Chillicothe. He was a member of the YMCA from its beginning in Chillicothe. He loved all sports, especially Chillicohe High School football and the Chiefs. He was active as a player and coach for the church co-ed softball team as well as playing volleyball, and ping pong with the church.

Bob was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George and Mary Moss of Princeton; paternal grandparents, Daniel "Sug" and Doris Zimmer of Princeton; maternal great-grandparents, Iris and M.E. Laffollette of Cainsville, and Nathan and Niecie Rogers; paternal great-grandparents, Henry and Eva Velle Havens, and Milton and Alice Zimmer; uncle, Jim Noland of Trenton; and niece, Desiree Huff of Chillicothe.

Survivors include his parents, Henry Zimmer and Betty Zimmer of Chillicothe; one daughter, Bobbi Jo Zimmer of the home; one sister, Debra Huff of Chillicothe; two uncles, Danny Zimmer of Kirksville, and Bill Moss of Fairbanks, Alaska; one aunt, Nellie Noland of St. Joseph; two nephews, Desmond Huff and Demetri Brutus of Chillicothe; and several cousins.

Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church in Chillicothe at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 30. There was a family visitation from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday, March 29, at the Lindley Funeral Home, Chillicothe. Friends called from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Monday, March 29, 2010, at the funeral home.
