This spring the Gallatin Theatre League will add to its musical repertoire the fast-paced comedy "Lucky Stiff." Set in England, New Jersey, and Monte Carlo, "Lucky Stiff" is the story of an inheritance with very long strings attached.

Morgan Francis takes the role of Harry Witherspoon, British shoe salesman, who longs for a more exciting life and gets his wish when his American uncle dies. Annie Gibson plays Annabel Glick who works for the Universal Dog Home of Brooklyn and competes with Harry for the inheritance. Cori Nichols and Lance Rains play a sister and brother who are involved in the uncle’s death and subsequent race to find the fortune.

Memorable characters whom this foursome meet and become entangled with along the way are played by Doug Nichols, Jackie Nichols, Brenda Stinson, Andrew Adkison, Michael Whitney, Ira Sloan, Tonya Sloan, Sonna Walker, Erik Tate, Jan Stout, and Steve Agenstein.

Lighting is under the direction of Paul Caven, who brings years of experience from motion pictures to the Courter Theater stage. Mark Gay, local musician, is in charge of sound and sound effects for the production. The cast will be assisted by an able set crew consisting of Bill Cullen, Barry Wood, Terry Jarboe, Mike Grant, and Allison Lockridge. Richard Evans, with the assistance of Ann Wood, will provide the accompaniment for the cast. Rhonda McCann is directing the play.

"Lucky Stiff" opens April 8 and plays through April 10. Showtime is 7 each night. Tickets are $8. There will be advance ticket sales at the theater April 3 from 10 to noon and April 5, 6, 7, from 5-7 p.m., at the theater. Tickets are also available at the door on the nights of the performances.
