Spring is here, are you ready to get out of the house and have a foot stomping, hand clapping good time? If you are, come join the Gallatin Theatre League on Saturday night, March 27, at the Spillman Event Center in Jamesport for an evening with the Grand River Opry.
This talented group of local musicians includes The Back Forty Band and Jamesport’s own D Strings, with solo performances by Melissa and Michele Gay, and Gallatin Theatre League members, Jan Stout, Elaine Bohannon, Jackie Nichols, Annie Gibson, and Morgan Francis.
Tickets for the show are on sale at several local Jamesport businesses, and may be purchased at the door Saturday night prior to the performance. Tickets are $8 a person and all proceeds will be used to complete Phase 2 of building the Spillman Event Center.
The Jamesport Community Association began plans two years ago for a newly renovated building that would house and host the multiple events that are sponsored by the JCA as well as available to be used by the community. The plan was to have a larger building with more seating, moveable stage, better lighting, a meeting room, attached restrooms and a new and improved kitchen.
The building is now in Phase 2 and thanks to the Jamesport and surrounding community this new building is no longer a dream but a reality. Local builders, contractors, plumbers, electricians, and many volunteers have raised a new Spillman Event Center that can be used by all. Thanks to generous economic support from the community, no money has been borrowed to help pay for the building.
But, the work is not done yet and the JCA is still continuing fundraising efforts to finish the building. So shrug off those old winter blues and come on out for an evening of lively music and good fun with the Grand River Opry at 7 p.m. on March 27 at the new Spillman Event Center in Jamesport.
