One person was injured in a two-vehicle accident that happened at about 10:50 a.m. on March 20, in Daviess County.
According to a report by the Missouri State Highway patrol, a vehicle driven by Michele Hendrickson, 48, Kansas City, was northbound on I-35. A vehicle driven by Matthew Wenthe, 35, Rosemount, Minn., was southbound. Mrs. Hendrickson lost control of her 2001 Chevrolet pickup about seven miles south of Pattonsburg and traveled through the median and struck Mr. Wenthe’s 2007 Honda Odyssey Minivan in the front driver’s quarter panel.
Both vehicle traveled off the west side of I-35. The pickup came to rest upright off the west side of I-35. The minivan came to rest upright in a fence off the west side of I-35, facing west.
Michele Hendrickson was taken by Daviess County Ambulance to Cameron Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries. She was not wearing her seat belt.
The accident was investigated by Tpr. A.K. Griffin, assisted by Sgt. L.M. Allen, Sgt. M.A. Wilhoit, Daviess County Sheriff, Pattonsburg First Responders, NTA Ambulance and Daviess County Ambulance.
On March 8, at approximately 1:47 p.m., an unusual accident seriously injured a 77-year-old man, Ivan (Glenn) Hampton of Kearney. Mr. Hampton formerly lived at Lake Viking.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Mr. Hampton drove a 1995 Ford F-350 with dump bed to a rock quarry off 248th Street and Kincaid Road, approximately two miles east of Plattsburg. He parked the vehicle on a hill and exited. As he was walking behind the truck it began rolling backward, striking him. The truck continued to roll until it struck a gravel pile and came to rest.
Mr. Hampton was transported to Liberty Hospital by Tri-County Ambulance, with serious, but not life-threatening, injuries. The truck, which was not damaged, was removed from the scene by its owner.
The incident was investigated by Tpr. T. Garton, assisted by the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department.
