During their regular meeting held March 22, the Gallatin Board of Aldermen opened the following bids submitted for mowing of the cemeteries: Bryce Burton $848; Buntin Mowing $400; Lyle Hoover $600; Mike Walker $650; David Michael $700. The board accepted Mike Walker’s bid of $650.

During new business, Dave Malone with DeWaay Financial submitted a proposal for re-financing options for the electric system certificates of participation. The board placed on first and second readings an ordinance authorizing the mayor to sign and execute the underwriting agreement with DeWaay Financial Network.
Teddy Holcomb stated the city crews have been working on trimming trees; street lights; and the water plant. They are going to start working on filling potholes this week if the weather stays nice. Also repairs will need to be made to the 95 International dump truck.
Police Chief Mark Richards reported on activity from March 8 to March 22 with the following reports taken and tickets given: one hindering prosecution; two burglaries; two property damage; one missing dog; one business alarm; two civil matters; one resisting arrest; one attempted suicide; three checked suspicious persons; one warrant arrest; two suspicious persons; three accidents; three open doors; one assault; one careless driving; two stop sign violations; one 96-hour commitment. There is one dog in the pound.
Chief Richards stated the police have been participating in the "Operation Safe Teen" statewide seat belt mobilization. This campaign will continue through March 31.
City Administrator Zac Johnson praised the city police on the investigation completed on some local burglaries.
Bills in the amount of $29,153.61 were approved for payment.
Discussion was held on street lights and security lights during old business.
The board voted to expend the annual clothing allowance for city employees.
Mr. Johnson discussed issues at the water plant. He is also talking with WideBand about providing support for the city’s computer network, and creating a city webpage.
Aldermen comments were made regarding the water plant.
The board entered executive session pursuant to hiring, firing, disciplining or promoting of employees.
