Gallatin’s USA Youth Wrestling squad will take eight wrestlers to this Saturday’s regional tournament in Blue Springs, Mo., after qualifying at last Saturday’s District 2 Tournament.
Of the eight wrestlers, Trenton Ishmael and Harrison Pettit came home with first place medals from the district tournament.
The top six wrestlers in each weight class advance to the regional. Eighteen schools and 300 kids competed in Saturday’s district event.
Also competing at district for Gallatin were: Anthony Esposito, Eli Henke, Klayton Lynch, Kolby McClintick, Graydee Rains, Jarod Rains and Colton Trimble.
The top four wrestlers at Saturday’s regional will move on to state competition in Columbia on March 26-27.
